5 STEPS ON HOW TO PREPARE FOR JOB INTERVIEW

In this world that we live in there are many things that scare people especially how to prepare for job interview. Most people will blame the fact that you are judged by someone if you deserve to be employed for their fear, others will tell you that they just get nervures but the real and the main reason why most people become so freaked out when it comes to how to prepare for job interview is the fact that most if not all of the people who go for job interviews are either inadequately prepared for it or not prepared at all. If you are one of those people and you want to hit it off well with your interviewer next time here are 5 steps on how to prepare for job interview.

  1. Know your interviewer and employer: You would actually be surprised how a-little information about the job you are about to take up and the person who is about to be your boss can help in an interview. Go to the company’s website and click on the “about us” tab, this will help you know what the company is all about, then go ahead and snoop around the company’s web site this will give you ammunition towards the interviewer if you are asked questions such as what you hope to do more for the company if employed. That’s how to prepare for job interview
  2. Know what type of questions you may be asked and how you will answer:  In most job interviews one of the top things that the interviewer is hoping to do is to get you off guard and put you off your feet. This can be a very simple task on how to prepare for job interview because if you’re not prepared you do not know what is in store for you and you have not prepared yourself adequately. Some of the questions that are sure to be asked and you should know the answers when trying to know how to prepare for job interview may include:
  • Where do you see yourself in five or more years? This is one of the most common questions and must be considered on how to prepare for job interview. When the interviewer asks this question one of the first thing that he/she looks at is your body language and you need to keep calm and answer confidently, some of the best answers may include plans of your return to school to acquire more skills or even opening your own business but whatever you do never go “aahhh” as if you are thinking of the answer at that moment. That’s how to prepare for job interview.
  • What is your biggest weakness? Most people think that not answering this question is the best way to go about it but they are sadly wrong. Your future employer wants to see if you have the courage to admit your weaknesses and if he finds out you don’t you may pass in all the other questions but not answering this one or answering that you do not have a weakness may cost you your job. That’s how to prepare for job interview.
  • Tell me about yourself.  Yes, I know this seems like the last thing one should go planning for when thinking of how to prepare for job interview but this is one of the biggest deal breakers. Most people think they know themselves, which in actual fact they do but most people cannot describe themselves with words and go blank when asked this question. This is one of those questions on how to prepare for job interview.  You will never miss in an interview and knowing what you will say may really help your chances.
  1. Practice the job interview and practice some more: You may think you are ready for the job interview only to find that you are not able to say anything when you came to the real thing, it has happened to most of us even from easy pre-school plays where you know your lines but you cannot say them. What you need to do on how to prepare for job interview is get a peer who can role play as your interviewer and ask you the same questions the same way you think the real interviewer will this will not only boost your confidence but it will give you a chance to have a fill of the real thing.
  2. Know how to dress for the interview: Just because it is an interview it doesn’t mean you make it your own “casual Friday” Never wear clothes that are to an interview as this will show the interviewer that you are not serious about how to prepare for job interview. First impressions last. One should opt to wear professional clothes despite the job you are interviewing for, one should stick with professional colors too such as black, grey, brown and dark blue this will reduce the interviewers attention from your dress code to your skills and job capabilities.
  3. There is nothing like too prepared: You want to know how to prepare for job interview it is easy remove the notion of “it’s too much preparation or that’s enough” out of your head. You need to think of things that might happen and should be ready for them for instance you should carry two copies of your CV and your references if he forgets his and he needs to check for something you will be able to provide it, this will help in showing that you think ahead. Slip early on the eve of your interview, do not drink on the eve of your interview this will help you have a sober mind, go to the interview about 10-20 minutes earlier and under no circumstances are you supposed to be late for your interview as that will be a wrong way to start on how to prepare for job interview.
